Update: Temporary Move

St. Edward Church is still under construction.  They are projecting that the construction will be completed by September 2009.  We will stay at our temperary location until we can move swing dancing back to St. Edward Church.

Forest City Swing will have dancing at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church  2001 N. Alpine Rd. in Rockford through September (for now).

We will be at this location from February 26th- September 2009.

We will NOT have swing dancing Thursday June 25th. The church has an event that night.

Weekly Swing Dancing Lessons

We offer 30 minute swing dancing lessons each week just prior to our swing dancing. We invite anyone who would like to
learn to swing dance to our Thursday night events. People of all ages are welcome. Lessons are offered from 8:00pm-8:30pm with swing dancing to follow from 8:30pm-10:30pm.

Admission to $3.00 at the door.

All the admission goes toward paying the building rental, swing parties, our annual Swing Out Rockford event. At each Swing Out Rockford event we donate the net proceeds and money collected on Thursday nights to Charities in the community.

When swing dancing, please dress comfortably. Wear dance shoes, dress shoes or tennis shoes. We have water and pop available.
